Sangam is looking for Marketing & Communication volunteers for the
2025-2026 season
- Over 18 years of age
- Member of World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS)
- Good oral and written English skills (English is the working language of Sangam)
- All applications must be endorsed by Member Organisation’s International Commissioner
- Experience or training in Marketing & Communications
- Education or qualifications and / or work experience in Marketing and Communications
- Experience with different social media platforms
- Guiding/Girl Scouting experience at a national or international level
- Basic digital filming and editing
- Graphic design experience
- High computer literacy including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and desktop or professional design programmes
- Awareness and sensitivity to different styles of communicating and ability to work within branding guidelines
- Awareness of the importance of timely, open and constructive communication internally and externally
- Genuinely enjoys meeting and getting to know new people
- Open to being immersed in a multi-cultural environment
- Practical, open minded, hard-working, and able to use common sense
- Patient, good team player, and capable of working in an international team
Social Media
- Collect and post engaging stories with photo/video material
- Assist in managing Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, You Tube and other social media accounts
- Track and provide reporting on social media interaction
- Expand Sangam’s presence and interaction on various social media platforms
- Create promotional materials; such as newsletters and for external events
- Update and prepare promotional materials for programme, services and events
- Prepare Sangam content input for various electronic newsletters
- Prepare presentation materials to introduce and present Sangam to different target audiences
- Take good quality pictures of all Sangam activities and events and file them correctly
- Writing articles when required
Growth and impact
- When required liaise with other World Centres and WAGGGS Communications team on specific projects
- Analyse social media reports and develop ideas to increase the communication plan with targeted and underrepresented demographic
- Lead in finding creative solutions to increase guest bookings, visibility of Sangam and impact of marketing actions
- Assist in implementation of the World Centre’s Branding Strategy
Other responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day running of the World Centre
- Meet and greet incoming guests
- Contribute to Sangam special events such as International Days celebration, Living at Sangam social evenings and Mind Mantra.
- General reception duties including receiving visitors, assisting guests with queries, and assisting with Yahdei, the Sangam Shop.
For the season 2025 – 2026, we have three placements open:
- Monsoon Volunteer from June to August 2025 (3 months)
- Autumn Volunteer from August to October 2025 (3 months)
- Winter Volunteer from mid-January to mid-April 202 (3 months)
- Free full board and lodging in shared staff housing by the pool at Sangam!
- Leadership and professional development.
- Learning new life and work skills such as time management, running indoor and outdoor activities, guest services, and community actions.
- Learning about different cultures, customs and countries
- Experiencing living for few months in a truly international environment infused with the spirit of Guiding and Scouting
- Learning new Guide and Scout games and current WAGGGS topics to share at home
- Learning about self, about others, about the environment and needs of the society
- Support from staff team in planning and delivering personal projects
- Free laundry facilities

- 2 days free accommodation before and after your volunteering dates

After filling the online form, we will confirm the consideration of your application upon receipt of your International Commissioner’s approval. If we do not receive the approval before the application deadline, we unfortunately will not consider your application.
Our team will be in touch with applicants about next steps after the application deadline.
Sangam will provide you with all meals, accommodation, uniforms, use of self-service laundry facilities and wifi access in designated areas on site for the duration of your stay.
If you are worried about money, you should look into financial assistance options. You will need to cover your travel costs, souvenirs & things you want to do in your free time. Depending on where you are travelling from, we will be able to offer up to £600 towards the cost of your visa and flight. You may also be able to apply for assistance from your national Guide/Scout Organisation or local community organisations.

Please note: Your application must be endorsed by your Member Organisation’s International Commissioner before we can make an offer of a placement. You may also be asked to provide contact details for two references.
