Youth Scholarships (Guides/Scout aged 11-29)
We have scholarship available for active members of Guiding/Scouting (WAGGGS) under age 30 who can show benefit in attending an event at Our Chalet and would not be able to attend without financial assistance. Please note: we have very limited scholarship funds, to allow as many young people as possible to benefit, we do not fund the entire trip, unless in exceptional circumstances. Please expect that you will need to fund at least part of your travel yourself and/or find additional funding.
Before applying, choose which event you would benefit from attending, read the Info Pack carefully and make sure you meet all criteria (including physical fitness) to attend your chosen event. Please note: you must be able to tell us how you would benefit from attending the event, while our events are great fun, just traveling for the enjoyment is not enough benefit to secure a travel scholarship.
Youth age 18-29 can apply using this form. Please note: we cannot accept forms without a valid International Commissioner Approval (see below).
Youth aged 11-17 a parent/guardian, Guide/Scout leader, or MO representative aged 18+ can apply on behalf of the young person. Ideally, the adult applying should be traveling with the young person. Applications can be made using this form. A valid International Commissioner approval is required (see below)
International Commissioner Approval – applications are not complete until the International Commissioner Approval is completed. Please ask your Member Organisation’s International Commissioner (not local or regional commissioner) to fill out the approval here. Please note, many International Commissioners are very busy and there may be a wait for your approval to be completed, we recommend requesting this as early as possible.
Cheryl Watkins Trust (women aged 60+)
Thanks to the generosity of the Cheryl Watkins Trust, we are also able to offer scholarships for women aged 60+ who have at least 20 years of active membership in Guiding and Scouting (WAGGGS). This scholarship is not available for stays in summer (June-August). The scholarship can be used to fund the entire cost of one event programme of your choosing (except summer programmes) OR the accommodation cost of a non-event stay. Applicants can also request funding towards the cost of travel.
