Challenge yourself at Our Chalet by taking part in a programme of adventurous activities in the mountains.

Who is this event for?

The Adventure event is open to all Guides and Scouts aged 12-18, along with their leaders. It’s our most physically demanding summer youth event suitable for those with a good level of fitness, with plenty of opportunities for fun and friendships along the way.

What activities are involved?

During the event, you’ll:

  • Take part in a day of survival activities.
  • Go on two challenging hikes in the Swiss Alps.
  • Get competitive on the Adelboden Games trail.
  • Fly along the ziplines and tackle the rock climbing wall at the Adventure Park.
  • Race down the summer toboggan!

In the evenings, you’ll be able to participate in a varied evening programme of activities to learn new skills and have fun with your new friends. Throughout the week you’ll also learn about the WAGGGS leadership mindsets and have a chance to complete a leadership beads bracelet and the Our Chalet Summer Challenge badge.

As well as the activities offered by Our Chalet, one day in the event is left free for your group to do your own activities, either onsite, in Adelboden, or further afield.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The Adventure event offers physically demanding activities that will take place in all weather conditions. All participants, including leaders, should be physically and emotionally capable of taking part in this kind of event. For groups of mixed ability we recommend considering our Discover or Explore events instead.

Our Chalet reserves the right to refuse to allow participants to take part in the Höchsthorn & Bütschifalls and/or Oeschinensee panorama hikes if our staff are not confident in a young person or leader’s ability to complete these activities safely. No refunds are offered for participants who are not able to take part for this reason. As with all activities, leaders must also be capable of participating.

ACCESSIBILITY

This is our most demanding summer youth event. Our Chalet encourages young people with disabilities to take part in challenging activities, but we recommend discussing ability/needs prior to booking to ensure we can make appropriate adaptations to allow young people with disabilities to take part fully.
