Who is this event for?
The Explore event is open to all Guides and Scouts aged 12-18, along with a limited number of their adult leaders (max 2 adults per 8 youth). Our summer programmes are designed for groups of around 8-20 youth accompanied by adults in a ratio of 2 adults per 8 youth. For very small groups (fewer than 6 youth) and large groups (more than 20 youth) please contact us to discuss suitability prior to booking
The Explore event focusses on outdoor activities that do not require previous outdoor experience but do require a reasonable level of physical fitness. Youth participants and leaders should be able to take part in an active week of outdoor activities including walking some distance every day. There is one full day of hiking as part of the programme, which includes a challenging mountain hike section.
What activities are involved?
Please read the Info Pack for full details of the all activities and to make sure the event is suitable for your group. Note that the activities are different to this programme in 2022 to 2026, we ask leaders to make sure they read the Info Pack carefully to understand which activities they are signing up for.
