As Sangam’s Communications Support, you will take the lead in delivering Sangam’s communications and marketing strategy, as well as implementing the communications plans. You will be responsible for communicating what is happening here on site to the global audience
The role of a Communications Support
During the placement, the Communications Support will work closely with the Guest Services Coordinator, Administrative Assistant and Sangam Volunteers to collectively ensure the successful delivery of Sangam’s communications and marketing strategy and plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with updating and managing the Sangam website, as well as the content that needs to be posted on Campfire.
- Ensure coverage of events and other programmes at Sangam in the form of photos and videos.
- Handle the content creation planning process using the pre-existing format and subsequently publish the content on social media.
- Coordinate the monitoring of Sangam’s social reach and impact and use the results to input into the regular KPIs and improve social media performance.
- Prepare and publish the quarterly Newsletter using the pre-existing format and tool
- Develop offers that fit different targeted consumer and for the long-term plan that align with World Centres mission and business plan
- Support the day-to-day running of the centre
- Participate in meetings, workshops or training sessions, either those planned at Sangam or those organized by the WAGGGS Global team
Requirements
Essential:
- A degree or Professional Certificates in Communications, Community Management, Public Relations Marketing or related field
- At least one year’s experience in marketing execution, community management and website management, as well as a background in photography and videography
- Proven graphic design skills using Canva or Adobe Illustrator to create engaging assets, and Word Press for Email Marketing
- Must be an active member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS)
- Must be part of the WAGGGS Volunteer Resources pool
- All applications must be endorsed by Member Organisation’s International Commissioner
Desirable:
- Previous experience at a World Centre or with a WAGGGS international event or programmes
- Experience working in a cross-cultural or international setting
- Willingness to live and work on-site in a shared, team-based environment
Position Details
- Type of role: Voluntary position with a monthly stipend of 10,000 INR (Indian Rupees)
- Placement duration: 6 months or 12 months as per your availability
- Location: Sangam World Centre, Pune, India (live-in role)
- Placement date: From 1 April 2026
