Who is this event for?
The Explore event is open to all Guides and Scouts aged 12-18, along with a limited number of their adult leaders (max 2 adults per 8 youth).
The Adventure event is our most physically demanding event, focussing on outdoor activities that challenge youth participants to push themselves while supporting their peers. Youth participants and leaders should have some prior experience of outdoor activities and be physically fit to take part in full days outdoors, including some challenging mountain hikes.
What activities are involved?
Our 2027 programme activities are not yet confirmed. To ensure our programming remains high quality and meets the needs of our youth members we review our programme every 3-4 years and make adjustments to the activities based on feedback from youth members who have taken part in a recent summer programme.
At the end of our summer 2025 season we will review feedback and the build our 2027 programmes. This means the specific activities involved will not be announced until September 2025. Activities will be remain focussed on outdoor education and building leadership skills and international friendships.
When can we book for Summer 2027?
You can send a booking request 24 months prior to you desired arrival date (e.g. for an event that starts on 21 July 2027 you can send a booking request on 21 July 2025). A provisional reservation will be made and you will be asked to confirm your reservation and pay a deposit once activities and prices are confirmed in September 2027. We ask that you please reserve for realistic numbers, e.g. do not reserve 20 places if you expect you really will only have 10 in your group as this blocks spaces from other groups. Please note that we operate an adult:youth ratio (max 2 adults per 8 youth) for these events and you will only be able to reserve within this ratio.
What is the cost of the Summer 2027 Youth Programmes?
The prices will be confirmed in September 2025. As a guideline, we expect prices to be around:
- Youth (11-15) camping self-catered: CHF 380. Youth 16+ and Leaders: CHF 425
- Youth (11-15) Squirrel House self-catered: CHF 555. Youth 16+ and Leaders: CHF 600
- Youth (11-15) indoors catered: CHF 940. Youth 16+ and Leaders: CHF 990
Is this event accessible for youth with disabilities?
In some cases, yes. Our Adventure event is our most physically demanding event. All participants and leaders should be physically fit to spend full days moving outdoors. In addition participants should have the social and emotionally ability to participate in an active week with peers age 12-18. We recommend contacting our programme team to discuss needs before booking if you would like to book for participants with a disability or health condition.
