Who is this event for?
The Explore event is open to all Guides and Scouts aged 12-18, along with a limited number of their adult leaders (max 2 adults per 8 youth).
The Adventure event is our most physically demanding event, focussing on outdoor activities that challenge youth participants to push themselves while supporting their peers. Youth participants and leaders should have some prior experience of outdoor activities and be physically fit to take part in full days outdoors, including some challenging mountain hikes.
What activities are involved?
Note that the activities are different to this programme in 2022 to 2026, we ask leaders to make sure they read the Info Pack carefully to understand which activities they are signing up for
Adventure is all about challenge in the outdoors! This programme includes:
- A day of onsite activities at Our Chalet themed around survival
- An overnight hut hike (exact location confirmed closer to the time)
- Half day ziplining
- Half day at Tschentenalp – cable car ride and visit to the Giant Swing.
In the evenings, you’ll be able to participate in a varied evening programme of activities to learn new skills and have fun with your new friends. Throughout the week you’ll also learn about the WAGGGS leadership mindsets and have a chance to complete a leadership beads bracelet and the Our Chalet Summer Challenge badge.
As well as the activities offered by Our Chalet, one day in the event is left free for your group to do your own activities, either onsite, in Adelboden, or further afield.
Is this event accessible for youth with disabilities?
